Special Announcement: Why I deleted some subscriptions

I continue to receive subscribe submissions, and those email addressses automatically are entered in my Contacts. In this regard, I have some updates.

How post notification works on this site

Normally, whenever a new blog is posted, subscribers receive the notification automatically in their inbox. This is done with the help of third-party “plug-in”. But it is different in this site.

This site does not use third-party plug-in

Whenever there is a new posting, I do it manually. I send the link through email. This is time consuming and laborious. But there are reasons for that.

Limited financial resources

There are free plug-ins that I can use for automatic post notification. However, as time goes by you are “invited” to upgrade to avail of some better features. This means I have to subscribe for a fee. At this moment, I do not have any budget for this kind of additional feature. Besides, this blog site is not being monetized through ads. So, it is impractical to spend more than I necessarilty need to maintain this site.

Spam Stats

Security

This site has an added feature for protection against spams. Suspicious and identified email spams are immediately flagged. However, it is still possible that some spams can go through. So, if I use automatic post notification, those flagged emails would still receive my email. On the other hand, the reverse can be true. It is possible that legitimate email addresses of new subscribers may be falsely flagged and deleted. This is one reason I prefer to send post notification manually.

Not receiving my post notification?

If you are reading this and are wondering why you have not received any post notification through my email even though you have subscribed, now you know. It is because for security reason that I do not include you in my email list.

Who receive my post notification email?

It is not enough that you have subscribed by providing your email address. I only consider email subscriptions as safe when the sender has submitted a comment on a particular post. So, if you are reading this and are expecting to receive post notification but are not receiving any, this means your email address has been deleted.

Three categories of recipients

I have categorized the recipients of my email post notification into three. One group, are those who I know personally and who subscribed. Second group, are those who I know personally but prefer not to subscribe for personal reason or another. Third group, are those subscribers I do not know personally.

This post is not sent through notification

Email notification for this particular post (Special Announcement) will not be sent. This is intentional. If you read this post this means you are a regular follower and reader. This post is meant to be “discovered”.

My heartfelt gratitude

I would like to express my deep gratitude to you all for following my posts. You have noticed that my posts have become irregular. This is due to my hectic schedule during the summer months. But rest assured that I read your comments regularly. And I continue to try my best to respond to them within 48 hours.
