A Kitten’s Tale: Little Daisy’s Scary Journey on Reels
My Fizzbook Experience
My journey on FB (Fizzbook) reels has been a mix of feline excitement and fur-raising experience. And when one of my videos surpassed the 30k views mark, I have to make a decision whether to go for it or to stop while it is still safe.
The day I got to choose my Papa & Mama
Not long after I came into this world on June 19, 2023, I was lucky to find and choose my Papa and my Mama. I right away felt their loving care. In return I vowed to myself that I would spend the rest of my life showing my affection to them, and to offer them nothing short of constant enjoyment.
I am pretty, at least according to my Papa & Mama
Papa & Mama are so proud of me. They make me believe I am pretty. They tell me this everyday. And they say it is their prayer that I live a long and healthy life. I promise not to break their heart.
Silly con Alley
One day Papa brought me to this place, where exciting things were happening. Papa wanted me to show around, to meet other kitties. It was a very long and winding boulevard, called Silly con Alley. It was so-called because many silly things occurred in the dark alleys. Along the boulevard were beautiful houses lining up and down.
ToBeYou
The first house we entered into is called ToBeYou. It was a huge mansion where all sorts of creatures would post their shorts and videos thru their own channels. I immediately liked the place. I would have loved to stay inside longer. But Papa had other plans. He promised we would come back there.
Fizzbook
Our next stop was this place in an intersection. The address itself right away told me that one had to be extra careful when getting inside. 1 Hacker Way, how honest one could get? Does it mean to say Fizzbook is the right place for a hacker to pass through? Or is it THE place where one learns how to hack? But what does hack mean anyway? I had so many questions, but I decided not to distract Papa whatever was in his mind.
Inside Fizzbook, anyone could create their own account, just like on ToBeYou. And they could post anything in there, photos, videos, reels, lives, etc. No wonder I saw so many visitors with their own photos and videos on hand. On Fizzbook, you could also create your own contents. Very interesting, indeed.
Instagrowl
The third mansion was named Instagrowl. Papa explained that this place was just one among the many properties of a big company called Meet-Hah. Its vast real estate included Fizzbook. Instagrowl was very similar to Fizzbook, a lot of postings of beautiful pictures and videos.
Eeks
We did not linger much inside Instagrowl. Before we entered the next mansion, Papa warned me that this was not a place for me. I understood why. We were still outside the door when I could already hear the raucous inside. True enough, the place was so loud and dizzying. Especially for a kitty like me. Papa told me that this place called Eeks was the “town square” in the whole of Silly con Alley. Everyone and anyone were free to shout and rant about anything. “The geniuses and the smart alecks congregate in this place,” Papa reminded me. It was not like that, Papa added, just over a year ago. The house used to be named Switter, and its light blue birdie logo was a cute nod to small and beautiful creatures.
When a genius guy named Eelan Mask bought the house in late 2022, one of the first to go were the security details around the mansion. Since then, with so many holes appearing along its four walls, all sorts of scary creatures found their way inside. “If one is looking for any informative and sensible conversation,” Papa whispered, “this is definitely not the place to be in.”
True to its name, Eeks was now a place where you literally say “eeks” once you got inside.
It was already late in the day. Papa was amazed how time could zoom by so fast. And there were many more houses and mansions that we could not visit down the Silly con Alley.
Time to go home
Before heading home, we passed by ToBeYou one last time. Papa said that this was the place where he would show me to the whole wide world. He said I was too pretty not to share my photos and videos especially to those who love kitties like me. And so we approached the concierge and did our registration.
Papa would name my ToBeYou channel @daisythehimalayanpuffy. He did not waste time. He availed of the services of a guy from a Chinese company called CatCup, to start my video shoot. My first clip would run a little more than five minutes. In this video I was introduced as “Daisy The Himalayan Puffy”. And Papa promised the CatCup guy we would be coming back in the next few days to start shooting for the Shorts. Papa had heard that clips under 60 seconds were the trending favorite of viewers.
Am I really cute?
Yes, I am cute. And Papa was hoping it would just be a matter of days before my ToBeYou channel started to attract what Papa called subscribers. A day passed, and we had 5. Days turned into weeks, and then months. As I write this tale, my @daisythehimalayanpuffy ToBeYou channel has 15 subscribers! And most of them are Papa’s friends. Ha ha. So much for my cuteness. I was feeling sorry for my Papa, though. “It’s okay,” he lovingly stroked the top of my head. “They will come soon. There are just too many competitions nowadays. But once they discovered just one of your cute shorts, you become viral. And you start to see the number of shares shoot up.”
But the numbers were not encouraging. @daisythehimalayanpuffy has stayed a little quiet. Papa is still trying to lift my spirit. “As long as the views do not fall below 15, we are fine.” Papa whispered to me soothingly. “That means all your subscribers are crazy about you.” Not long after, Papa would discover that there’s more to this than just attracting viewers and subscribers. And I will get back to this later.
Fizzbook, again!
Papa would remember that he had an existing Fizzbook account that had stayed idle for quite sometime. Papa considered himself a reluctant Fizzbook user since the beginning. He heard a lot of bad things about the goings-on inside the mansion. But he also became aware that short clips were becoming so popular in the house.
So off we went back to Fizzbook mansion. Papa carefully put all the required documentation in place, read the miles-long rules and the lawyer-y set of “Community Standards”. I could see the inextinguishable pride on Papa’s face. “We must do this the right way,” he smiled at me. “I have heard that Marky Muckingberg is making a lot of improvements to make sure all netizens of Meet-Hah verse are safe from predators and all sorts of scammers. And if you just play clean and square, Marky will like you and take care of you.”
I was quiet, I had no idea what Papa was talking about. It was the first time I heard of Marky Muckingberg. But the way Papa would enunciate each words, I got the idea that this guy must be very powerful. Papa told me that there was a vast underground network of labyrinthine mansions owned by Meet-Hah, which could accommodate billions of visitors. Fizzbook alone had 3.7 billion. Meet-Hah also owned the other three biggest showplaces on earth: Instagrowl, WazUp, and Fizzbook MessingGer.
Shocking success!
Papa’s gamble paid off. My first reels were a hit. It garnered hundreds of views in less than 24 hours, leaving Papa’s non-feline clips poorly in the dust. Papa was ecstatic. He bought me more toys to play with, while he surreptitiously took some photos and short videos of me. All in under 60 seconds. “For shorts and reels,” Papa repeated to me countless times. And sure enough, my succeeding reels started to attract more and more viewers. Many of the posted clips had reached thousands!
Fizzbook was happy
Papa started to receive notifications from Fizzbook, congratulating him. That my reels were having far reaching engagements, that Papa should create more reels, and so on. And one day, Papa was in disbelief when his profile suddenly got a distinguished title: “Rising Creator.” It was said that reaching this level was a huge feat to accomplish. Papa was in cloud nine. However, the notification continued, this flattering title would be reviewed every week. And Papa could lose it if he could not maintain his winning streak.
The disaster with Fizzbook
As my reels continued to gather more and more views, and comments and likes came rushing like tsunamis, Fizzbook suddenly punched Papa in the guts.
It was in early morning less than a month ago. Papa rose up very early to check how my reels were doing on Fizzbook. Then I saw him froze in his seat. He could not open his page. And he started to see the following bewildering words through email ([email protected]) and in Notifications.
“Hi Moore, your Fizzbook account has been suspended. This is because your account, or activity on it, doesn’t follow our Community Standards on account of integrity and authenticity. If you think we suspended your account by mistake, you have 180 days to disagree with our decision. If you miss this deadline your account will be permanently disabled. You can learn more about why we suspend accounts by visiting the Community Standards. Thanks, The Fizzbook Team.”
The shocker continues
Papa was dumbfounded. He had read the miles-long Community Standards diligently, although he wondered aloud how many netizens of Meet-Hah had actually read the whole stuff. “Where the @#&* (blip…I honestly did not understand this) did I violate anything?” Papa exclaimed in exasperation. Just the same, Papa decided to be a law-abiding visitor on Fizzbook. He followed the prompts on notifications and clicked on “Disagree with decision” button. After submitting all the requested information, Papa was able to access his account. But not before writing a long email to that [email protected] asking for an explanation. None was coming.
We’re back in business
Papa’s excitement came back. He was now more inspired to create more engaging and funny reels, at my expense of course. I was just happy to do it. I do not mind sharing my cuteness to the whole world. Papa told me that there are so many creatures in the world who love to watch furry videos, especially those who had furry friends of their own. And there were some who had lost their furry kitties, and they were still grieving over it.
If my videos and pictures could bring a little smile back on their faces, what a noble thing it was for me to show myself. True enough, more thousands of views and comments kept pouring in on my reels and photos. Papa was a little shocked. I guess it dawned on him that he needed to reply and acknowledge every comment and adoration. To show them that Papa and Mama, and I myself, are very grateful to them all. Besides, Fizzbook highly encouraged “engagements”.
Another disaster struck. What’s wrong with Fizzbook?
Ten days ago, Papa received another devastating news on his Notifications. It said,
“You’re temporarily restricted from performing certain actions on Fizzbook. This is because there’s been some unusual activity detected on your account. Your account will be limited until October 15, at 7:45 AM.”
Papa could not “engage” with my followers and viewers for 10 days!
Papa was furious. He said he had had enough. “We stick with ToBeYou.” He said to me. “We create Shorts instead of Reels. You may have much fewer views and subscribers on your channel. But at least ToBeYou is not causing me a heart attack!”
Yes, Papa could still post my pictures and reels on his Fizzbook page. But he felt so paralyzed. However, his fury did not last long, instead of getting furious he was laughing. At the people in Fizzbook, or Meet-Hah. He was shaking his head. “What’s wrong with this people? There are legions of Fizzbook pages that contain very nefarious postings, even porns. How come Fizzbook continues to enable them?” And it’s true. Since my reels became more and more popular, Papa had to constantly play the exhausting game of “whack-a-mole”. Papa had to keep deleting Friend Requests that contained porns and other suspicious postings. And I could sense that he is getting tired of all this poops going on with Fizzbook.
Bots with boots
Papa had tried to reach out to Fizzbook. He fired a number of emails, to no avail. Meanwhile, he kept receiving notifications like,
“Congratulations, Moore Onaim, you’ve earned a rising creator label! This label recognizes you for posting content that’s original, received strong audience engagements and meets quality standards.
Your profile may now be suggested to people as a creator to follow.
Celebrate this recognition with your followers.”
Duh!
Another one says:
“Nice work keeping up the momentum! You’ve been reaching more people by engaging with your audience. Here’s some examples…blah blah blah.”
So, what’s wrong at Fizzbook? What’s wrong with Meet-Hah? Papa kept asking these questions for days now. Meanwhile, he helplessly watched the clock ticking by. He could not wait for the 10 days restriction to get lifted.
Then it dawned on my Papa. Is it about the boots? Is it the boots that are behind all these baffling and confusing restrictions and suspensions? “I thought boots would make Meet-Hah smarter and more efficient?” Papa would utter this question countless times. “And they even brag that AI (Artificial Insidemination) would make the improvements more and more powerful.”
Aah. Poor Papa. All he ever wanted was to showcase his pretty Little Daisy. How I desperately wish there is a Furry Godmother out there. I would surely beg her to go and pay Marky Muckingberg a visit. And to tell him that my old Papa deserves a better and fair treatment.
This is my Kitten’s Tale, my on-and-off love affair with Fizzbook on reels. I am not sure how long my poor Papa and I would continue with this kind of journey.
One last note, regarding my Shorts on my ToBeYou channel @daisythehimalayanpuffy. The number of views has become so erratic. It shoots up, then go stagnant.
Papa has just discovered that it is all about ToBeYou’s so-called algorithm. Just like Fizzbook, ToBeYou is becoming more confusing. But this topic may be better reserve for my other tales.
